The Magi – A small secret society of spiritualists interspersed within the culture and population on the Seven Worlds. These men and women draw their power from some source on ancient Earth. They are the only true link with the past, and are responsible for preserving the truth. This is accomplished by their efforts to secure the tools necessary to rebuild after the collapse of the Federal System. One such tool is the Defense Against the Dark Enemy (DADE) This legendary individual has been genetically preserved from ancient Earth, and endowed with special weaponry to assault the current focal point of human bondage, The Maxor's and their system. The Dade has seen six manifestations to, all ending in the collapse of an evil despotic system of one kind of the other, with the seventh and last manifestation prophesied by the order.
The Magi are somehow responsible for the Omega Equinox, and her care taker Elliott Mentor. There is a much rumored second ship, the Alpha Equinox, but its existence is shrouded in controversy even with in the ranks of the Magi. They are the keepers of a variety of specialized devices that will assist them and the Dade in his mission. The overall goals of the order are clouded in mystery that dates back to the abandonment of Earth.
They are a fiercely loyal and patient group willing to forfeit their lives either in direct sacrifice or through the sacrifice of a lifetime of stealth to preserve their values, and their sacred duties. There are seven Prima Magi, one on each world. They are presently the antithesis of the Maxors, although this has not always been the case. Their identities and location are kept secret even form the other Magi. They are believed to have the ability to manipulate inter-dimensional space, but this has never been confirmed.
A Magi has never been caught or incarcerated, nor has their order ever been infiltrated in seven millennia.
