The Dark Enemy – A deadly but stealthy adversary who was a contemporary of Elliott Mentor. No one on the Seven Worlds has ever seen, or at least are aware they have seen this adversary. Born on old Earth after the departure of the Second Wave, only the Magi are aware of its existence, and even they do not know its current form. Once human, this being is now, by all definitions immortal. It is the result of a powerful mind gone mad, and was created by an inexplicable sting of unrelated circumstances that turned a human into a device, and triggered the Great Darkness on Earth.

Its sole function is now revenge for what it believes was the injustice of its punishment. It has assumed many human forms over the millennia, but always emerging with the same purpose; the enslavement of humanity for retribution. The Dade is its arch enemy. They have battled six times in six thousand years, each time he has been defeated, and forced to rebuild another civilization to serve its purpose. Its seventh incarnation is behind the treachery of the Maxors.
