Fundal – The planet Fundal was established by Fundal Interplanetary, a consortium of weapons systems companies for the sole purpose of militarizing the new worlds. The expedition to establish this weapons world was the first ship to arrive of the Second Wave. The companies that backed the expedition knew that following the model set by others during the colonization of old Earth's sister planet and asteroids was the quickest path to profit. They took minimal teraforming technicians and supplies, choosing to focus on research and industrial capacity. With such a mission Fundal never reached its potential, rather it has become the vital pawn in controlling the other six worlds driven by the massive Federal appetite for new and more potent weapons and other important supporting technologies of war.

It is a secret world, closed to trade with the other six, located on the equatorial plane of Vela opposite of Parson's World. The Federals keep all traffic well away from its local space, but the sizable shipments of armaments and equally sizable shipments of raw materials and goods for the work force are difficult to mask. Star charts only refer to a Military Operation Zone in the space where Fundal resides. The remote weapons laboratory at Condor is the epitome of well funded military industrial science where teams of researchers and technicians develop elaborate efficient weapons systems and platforms for production by the Fundal weapons factories.
