I began New Thunder with very specific goals. I wanted to tell a story that was interesting and compelling to read but beyond that, I wanted to explore value and virtue, something I find sadly lacking in popular literature. I believe that I have accomplished my original goals. I hope you, the reader, will agree.

In a culture where time is precious, those of us that read fiction steal the time to indulge the need to explore and ponder exciting worlds and possibilities. We hope that at the end of the experience we are somehow enriched by the investment. The time you spend with the characters and in the places of New Thunder will open a portal for you into human possibilities that are both ancient and ultra modern.

This book and the cover artwork are the result of a joyous release of pent up creativity. As an engineer, I know that the thrill of beginning the next project is only eclipsed by the exuberance of completing the last one - and so it is with this work. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
