 Brauntame – Named after Phillip Agust Brauntame, President of the Brauntame Corporation that partially funded the Second Wave. This world was the second water world to be discovered after Alpha. It was colonized partially by Second Wavers. It had never achieved the level of organization, and really never moved out of phase III terraforming. Brauntame and the other members of the Grand Consortium cut too many corners, made too many compromises in the name of profit. In the end, after Great Darkness, it degenerated into a haven for outcasts, criminals and unfortunately for the verdant world of Brauntame, the Dark Enemy. When it arrived the entire face of the culture changed.
The emergence of the first Maxor was on Brauntame. He was the perfect leader for the rabble that had gravitated to the new world. Strong handsome, charming, and devoid of a conscience. One by one the tribal culture that had evolved was forged into a cohesive killing machine as each local leader was either assassinated or just plain disappeared without a trace. Then there was the inexplicable void in the continuity of history. There were no records of any kind beyond a thousand years or so, even though it was common knowledge the Brauntame had been discovered and settled over six thousand standard years. There was only access to the previous nine hundred years or so. History had somehow been erased or rewritten.
The current government is the result of an incestuous relationship of theology and government. The current civil and military leader is the direct result of the heavy handed actions of the Maxors. They bolster the culture of war, fund the armament and military science, to assist in keeping the populace in check. It is the dominant world among seven, through a systematic campaign of conquest and subjugation. The culmination of this policy has led to each world in turn "demanding" and receiving a Maxor, with Brauntame as a planetary fortress, the military arm, and Alpha as the Holy World - home of the Prime Maxor.
